Seeking Student Office Assistant (Work Study)
Excellent opportunity to work in a professional office setting.
Busy division office is seeking entry-level office assistant to work in the BITCA Division office. Under general supervision you will perform a variety of clerical and technical tasks such as processing documents, maintaining record keeping/filing systems, assisting with departmental events and collateral materials and compiling data.
Refine your customer service skills greeting visitors and answering telephones responding to inquiries regarding professional technical programs in our division. Learn and practice basic strategies for compiling marketing data. Serve as a liaison between students and faculty for all BITA programs.
Perform basic word processing/typing tasks such as aligning text, setting margins and tables, saving, file management, spell checking and printing to produce memos and letters, envelopes, and mail merge documents using Word, Excel or type writer.
Create and edit spreadsheets in Excel.
Exercise your creative skills. When needed, update and maintain departmental Web and social networking presence, assist with promotion and implementation of BITCA events and draft marketing materials to promote BITCA classes.
Operate copy machine and route copies to appropriate personnel. Assist in organizing a central filing system. Schedule appointments and meetings. Perform related duties as required.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Intermediate-level proficiency in basic Microsoft Word and Excel as demonstrated by computing sample to highlight skill sets outlined in the job description.
- Professional work ethic with emphasis on customer service.
- Familiarity with Web site maintenance, basic graphic design software and/or Internet research
- Fluent ability to read, speak, and write English.
- Keyboarding 30 wpm.
- Applicants must be enrolled in a BITCA program of study.
