Welcome Glitter 2009!
GLITTER (Get Launched In Technology Through Education and Resources) is hosting its 3rd annual Career Day on Friday, May 29, 2009, 9:30 am – 1:00 pm.
The purpose of the conference is to encourage high school girls to consider an information technology education as a path to a career in almost any field. (Although over 90% of information technology jobs are in non-IT companies, the number of women entering the field of IT has actually declined in the last few years.)
Seattle Central Community College’s Information Technology (IT) Programs (http://seattlecentral.edu/spotlight/spot_it.php), is hosting the event along with IGNITE (Inspiring Girls Now In Technology Education), http://www.ignite-us.org.
Please welcome 80 high school girls from Seattle Public High Schools who are interested in IT programs.
Thanks!
