Join the User Experience Design Team at Amazon!

Amazon is looking for talented, customer-focused user experience/interaction design interns to join our Retail User Experience design team. The ideal candidate will have the ability to deliver clean, web-ready designs based on existing style-guides and Brand guidelines in a fast-paced production environment. This position requires strong organizational skills, web expertise, and intrinsic design ability. The ability to manage multiple projects and communicate with key stakeholders is essential.

Chosen candidates will learn a great deal from an internship at Amazon and will generate portfolio work and gain design experience to broaden their UX Design repertoire. Amazon internships help students gain real-world experience, build contacts, and learn from some of the best designers in the industry. Depending on intern’s interests, there will also be opportunities to shadow employees in related departments such as merchandising, usability, photo studio, and visual design.

Online portfolio of work is strongly encouraged.

Prerequisites:

Are enrolled in an internship for credit course Because all of our design internships are unpaid, students must get course credit for the internship. This is non-negotiable.
Candidates must commit to at least 3-months as an intern, but we’ve found that interns get the most out of a 6-month internship as it takes about 3 months to get acquainted with how things work here.
We ask for a minimum commitment of 20 hours per week.
Candidates are required to come in for a brief portfolio review to determine qualifications and team fit.

Qualifications:

1 year minimum experience in a web production or design class environment  · Proficient in the Adobe Suite of Software (Primarily Photoshop and Dreamweaver)
Excellent attention to detail  · Strong communication skills  · Self-motivated and capable of working independently
