Seattle Parks and Recreation Internship

Seattle Parks and Recreation manages more than 6000 acres of parkland and more than 400 parks, including the Seattle Aquarium and Warren G. Magnuson Park. They also oversee community centers, pools and recreational activities around the city. Additionally, Parks has one of the largest and most diverse work forces in Seattle city government.

Position title: Assistant Web Developer

Position type: unpaid internship

Position description: Assist Seattle Parks & Recreation web manager with large scale web re-design project. Gain real world technical experience utilizing HTML, XHTML, CSS, Photoshop, Dreamweaver and other web industry tools and applications.

Begin date: 10/20/2009

Hours/Days: flexible, flexible

Minimum qualifications: The ideal candidate will be a team player, have some web development or design experience, be able to listen to and follow instructions, have confidence, be flexible and creative.

Minimum requirements are:

  1. Must be currently enrolled in college level web development or design studies
  2. HTML/XHTML experience
  3. CSS experience
  4. Photoshop experience
  5. Dreamweaver experience
  6. ASP, Flash and .NET experience helpful, but not required
